WELKOM | Hello, my name is Hans Pelders and I have been active as a Senior Standardization Engineer for over 35 years. My main task was to prepare and manage standardized pipe system specifications for the chemical industry. By recording all components for piping systems in specifications, a modular system is created that is used for the design, construction, testing and commissioning of piping installations. The specifications are also applied in practice for the management and maintenance of the installations. The application of standardized pipe system specifications is also the basis for drawing up a Technical Construction File (TCF) and complies with a Quality Management System. In addition to my position as Senior Standardization Engineer, I have been active as Team Leader of the Standardization department of AkzoNobel Projects & Engineering since 2001. In my position I have been active as a member since 1998 and have been chairman of Normalisatie Kringen Nederland (NKN) since 2014. I will be retired as of November 1, 2019. Due to my passion and a shortage of Piping Specialists, I want to make my expertise available to the labor market. |

| ERVARING | Over the years I have a detailed technical knowledge of pipe materials, pipe parts, valves, fittings and gaskets constructed. This knowledge is recorded in thousands of specifications. Implementing laws and regulations, in particular the Pressure Equipment Directive 2014/68/EU and the related EN standards for piping systems, is part of my areas of expertise. In addition to European standards, I also have knowledge of American standards for piping systems such as ASME, ASTM, API, etc. My main tasks as Team Leader Standardization were: – maintaining internal and external customer contacts – drawing up Service Level Agreements and framework contracts for Standardization of subscriptions and services – recruitment and management of budgets – managing the daily affairs within the department – guiding and assessing team members – drawing up annual work programmes – etc. |
